Thank you for supporting small ✨

Children are not always invited to weddings and it can be a subject that can be hard to approach. If not made clear that its child-free on the invitation, you could end up with people presuming that their child is on the guest list. Leading to, what could be, an awkward conversation!

We have some suggestions below of how you can politely let your friends and family know that the children won’t be invited on this occasion.

We also have options for letting people know that close family children will be there – but not all children.

Take a look at the poems below, hopefully one will suit your needs! Please feel free to change these to suit you and use them as a guide.

Sorry no Children…

While we love to watch the children run and play, this is an adults only kind of day.

~

Although we do love all of your little cherubs we would request that our wedding remain adults only. So book a sitter and dust off those dancing shoes!

~

With respect, we would like our special day to be an adult only occasion.

~

In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!

~

We would love to give all our guests the opportunity to let their hair down and have a good time without having to worry about little eyes and ears so we politely request no children.

~

Hire a babysitter, let your hair down, and join us at our adults only wedding!

~

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only affair.

~

We hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding children-free, and take the opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate in style!

Although we love to watch the children laugh and play, this is going to be an adults-only kind of day

Just close family children…

Unfortunately, as much as we’d love to invite all of our friends’ children, we can only accommodate a few close family children. We hope that you will understand this decision and we very much hope you will still be able to join us on our special day.

~

In order to keep numbers to a minimum, we can only invite a small number of children. We also thought you might like a day off!

~

Unfortunately, due to number restrictions, we have been unable to extend our invitations to include any children. Only children involved in the wedding party will be present. We hope that parents are able to arrange babysitters so they can join us on our special day.

~

Sorry, no children allowed, apart from the ones included in the wedding party.

Children Welcome to the ceremony, but not the reception

Children are welcome at the ceremony, however the reception is an adults-only affair.

~

Children are welcome to attend the ceremony, however, we respectfully advise that the reception will be for adults only. We thank you for your understanding

Children Welcome to the Evening Reception

We would like our special day to be an adult only occasion, however we would like to open the invite up to your children at the evening reception.
